The journalism bug bit me in the butt in 1994. I helped found my middle school’s first newspaper – well technically it was a magazine because it came out once a month – and continued my career into reporting the drudgery of the world through high school, where eventually they let me rule.
I have been an aspiring journalist for over half my life. No, that’s not sad and depressing, uncovering the truth has become part of who I am – filling people in on the dirty little secrets of the world.
It’s really quite fun. How many other jobs can you think of that allow you this much freedom? I mean we have our own mention in the Bill of Rights about that.
But as Spiderman’s uncle once said, “With great power comes great responsibility,” yadda yadda, and all that. So that means I have a responsibility to tell what I know to everyone and to dig up the facts.
And that’s the fun part.
So Eastfield College is my start. I work and study here so that one day I’ll be the one uncovering the scandals that the well-known beings can’t seem to resist.
And when I’m famous you can say I knew her when.
